The latest to join Bollywood’s hot bod bandwagon is actor Ajay Devgn. The 42-year-old has turned brawny for his next project — Rohit Shetty’s film Singham.
“For me, it is about being fit and strong and look the same even at the age of 65. A six-pack is almost transient, you can’
t possibly maintain it all your life, so I would rather opt for something that holds me in good stead and something more constant,” says the actor.
“Ajay wanted a hardcore realistic body for Singham, as he plays a cop from a village on the Maharastra-Goa border in the movie. This is not a conventional six-pack physique,” says his trainer Prashant Sawant. Devgn says, “It’s more of mental rehearsals — thinking about this role and of course pumping that extra iron.”
Devgn achieved the look after three months of rigorous training. “He is very disciplined when it comes to fitness. I got him to do a rigorous combination of weights and circuit super sets that incorporated all techniques including push-ups and pull-ups,” adds Sawant.The actor also followed a strict diet to get those fab abs. “He was on a high-protein, low-carb diet all throughout the training,” says Sawant.
Devgn’s beefy look has the web abuzz with compliments. “U r da next macho man of B-town after Sallu Bhai... Mind-blowing dude... (sic),” posted Ashish Kumar on Twitter. Minocha Singh wrote, “your looks now are as great as great you are an actor.”
