Japan's Foods : Looks Yummy!

    moshi-moshi...! ^^

now i'll get some foods of Japan, here they are :

    1. Tonkatsu

Tonkatsu consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet one to two centimeters thick and sliced into bite-sized pieces, generally served with shredded cabbage and miso soup.

tonkatsu is made by pork and thick crispy flour as 1-2 cms. usually people eat tonkatsu with rice. wow, looks yummy~ but I can't eat that. I'm a muslim, so we don't eat pork.

    2. Cream Stew

Cream stew or kurimu shitu is a popular Yōshoku dish consisting of meat, usually chicken or pork, and mixed vegetables, onion, carrot, potato and cabbage, cooked in thick white roux. The vegetables are sauteed before the meat is added with some water. The surface fats are removed by degreasing and then the roux is added. It is common in Japan to use ready-made roux, as one might for making Japanese curry, which comes in a block from a box. The roux though can also be cooked from scratch. The hard paste roux melts from the heat and blends with the water to create a thick stew. Milk can also be used as replacement for water, to make the stew more creamy.

    3. Onigiri

People usually eat onigiri as bento (lunch).
this one is this picture which is the classic shape of Onigiri :

    see?
but now onigiri can modificate by yourself, as your creatification. These are the modification shapes of onigiri :

    see? so cute, right? ^__^

    4. Risotto

risotto is a japan food which has creamy, melty, and yummy tastes. It's like porridge, but a lil different.

    looks yummy! :9

    5. Nabe

Nabemono or simply called nabe, is a term referring to all varieties of Japanese steamboat dishes, also known as one pot dishes.

The pots are traditionally made of clay or thick cast iron (tetsunabe). Clay pots can keep warm for a while after being taken off the fire, while cast iron pots evenly distribute heat and are preferable for sukiyaki. The pots are usually placed in the center of dining tables, shared by multiple people. This is considered the most sociable way to eat with friends and family.

Most nabemono are stews and soups served during the colder seasons. In modern Japan, nabemono are kept hot at the dining table by portable stoves. The dish is frequently cooked at the table, and the diners can pick the cooked ingredients they want from the pot. It is either eaten with the broth or with a dip. Further ingredients can also be successively added to the pot.

    6. Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki is known as a kind of Japanese-style pancakes or pizza. As the name indicates (okonomi means favorites in Japanese), you can add your favorite ingredients in okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki usually includes chopped cabbage and various toppings like thinly sliced pork, red ginger, yakisoba noodles, tenkasu (tempura crumbs), corn, green onion, squid, shrimp, dried bonito flakes, bean sprouts, and more.

Northern Soul Cupcakes

As cyclists, there is an old and hallowed tradition of our rides going hand-in-hand with cafe stops, where coffees from lattes to machiatos are prdered. Usually accompanying them, is a large sugar treat in the guise of the humble cake. Cakes are as personal a choice as a saddle or tyre... I love something uber sweet like a caramel slice or anything with copious amounts of thick frosting to give my tired legs that little boost to get home.
So with that in mind cake lovers, allow me to introduce you to the artisan cupcake world of Northern Soul Cupcakes. Run by my very good pal and no 1 Aunty, Jayne Harrison, Nothern Soul create wonderful bespoke cupcakes for all occasions. Having had the pleasure to scoff a few on my sisters 30th, I feel obliged to share these wee beatuies with the bianchista readership, so any northern riders with a penchant for natty looking treats can get a well deserved sugar rush.

Based in the Sheffield area, why not treat that special rider in your life to the ultimate post ride treat. Personally that ice cream cake looks delish and consider this an order put in for one when im back in the city of steel in a few weeks.
