My favourite place

TheWood on the Hill (Wittenham Clumps) by Paul Nash
(pen and black ink over graphite with wash).

This site, near Dorchester, was celebrated by Nash throughout his life in ink, watercolour and oil; it embodied his sense of place. Today it is protected by the Northmoor Trust and remains almost unchanged (if you can shield your eyes from Didcot Power Station).
