Wittenham Clumps - a watercolour by Paul Nash (1913)
A walk in the sun 2009, escaping from painting and faking doors! Looking across from the iron age fort
A view up towards these shallow rounded hills - the iron age fort is on the left. Nash wrote "...grey hallowed hills crowned by old old trees. Pan-nish places down by the river wonderful to think on, full of strange enchantment...a beautiful legendary country haunted by old Gods long forgotten".
